Mixing
We shape level, panorama, EQ and dynamics from your multitracks — with 2 revision rounds included and clear streaming loudness targets.

Mixing at Nitentxara is an offline process in our 21 m² control room: no live band in the room, but focused listening on nearfields. Sanne de Vries and Maarten van den Berg alternate by genre and schedule.
You deliver stems or a session export after band recording, vocal recording or home production. We do not rely on mystery presets; every mix starts from your arrangement and references. Mastering can set final level afterward — see loudness and mastering.
Process
- 01
Brief
Via contact send tracklist, references, target date and stem format questions. We confirm price and terms and conditions within 1 business day.
- 02
Delivery in
Upload via agreed link following deliver stems for mix: 24-bit WAV from bar one, no limiter on the mix bus. Run the checklist before the deadline.
- 03
Mix pass
Initial balance, space, edits and automation. You receive a stereo mp3 or WAV for review — no mastering limiter unless you want a loud preview discussed upfront.
- 04
Revisions and export
Up to 2 revision rounds with consolidated notes. Then final WAV (and optional instrumental) plus short mix notes.
Source material
Ideal input is synchronized WAV stems per instrument or group, without unintended processing on the master bus. We import Pro Tools, Reaper, Logic exports and plain folders. One song = one mix job; alternates (acoustic version) count separately unless bundled upfront as an EP.
If you only have a rough bounce without editable tracks, we can do limited fixes but not a full mix — say so in intake. Sometimes a fresh vocal session costs less than rescuing a leaking guide.
Mix approach
We start with gain staging and pan: drums and bass as skeleton, vocals placed without masking. EQ stays subtle unless the genre wants colour; compression supports transients instead of crushing them. Reverb and delay are chosen per element, not dumped on the whole bus.
References set direction, not a copy. You say what you value — punch, warmth, space — and what to avoid. We note when your mix should deliberately differ from a reference.
Revisions
2 revision rounds are included. One round = one consolidated list (not ten emails per hour). We adjust balance, EQ, effects and levels; no full remix without agreement. Extra rounds above the limit are quoted separately.
Feedback by email or a short scheduled video call; attended mix in studio is possible at studio hourly rates voice/band when the calendar allows. See terms and conditions for response times.
Loudness and delivery
Mixes ship without a mastering maximizer unless you explicitly want a loud preview. We agree streaming targets upfront — loudness and mastering explains LUFS and headroom. Final mix WAV is 24-bit; mp3 for preview only.
Instrumental, TV mix or printed stems from the mix are not default; ask when booking. We archive project files 12 months, then delete per privacy policy.
EP and album packages
Multiple titles use EP (up to six tracks) and album (up to twelve) packages at fixed price — useful for one cohesive sound across a release. Each song gets its own mix time; revisions apply per track.
| Package | Scope | Price incl. VAT |
|---|---|---|
| Single | 1 track | €185 |
| EP | up to 6 tracks | €690 |
| Album | up to 12 tracks | €1,290 |

Turnaround
After complete delivery we usually need five to ten business days for a first mix, depending on queue and complexity. Rush may be possible at extra cost — we never promise same-day without checking. You hear within 1 business day whether your date is feasible.
Incomplete stems pause the job until you supplement; that shifts the deadline. Use the checklist in deliver stems for mix to avoid ping-pong and repeated upload requests.
Not in the mix fee
Mastering, fixing bad recordings, drum replacement, adding new production, sample clearance and distribution sit outside Mixing. We edit minor timing issues when normal for the genre; heavy quantize without grid-aligned sources is extra work.
You handle copyright and splits as rights holder; we process audio under terms and conditions and data processing agreement where applicable.
Working with recording
Mixes improve when capture is already solid. Bands who record live here get consistent track names and levels; booth vocals arrive dry and fast to place. Home producers are welcome — leave headroom and avoid clipping.
