Stems versus stereo bounce
Stems are separate tracks or groups (drum bus, bass DI, guitar L/R) we can balance independently. A stereo bounce of the whole song leaves little room beyond broad EQ and compression. For mixing with space and dynamics, send multitracks or clear stem groups.
Only a laptop demo? Mention it upfront via contact — sometimes a production upgrade or extra recording day beats mixing a heavily compressed mp3.
Technical baseline: format and sample rate
Send uncompressed WAV or AIFF. Use one sample rate per project — usually 44.1 kHz for streaming release, 48 kHz for video sync. Bit depth: 24-bit preferred; 32-bit float DAW exports are fine if buses do not clip.
Do not bounce back and forth through mp3; each conversion adds artefacts. Export at the same tempo and length as your reference; state BPM in your email and whether tails are needed for reverb decay.
Headroom and processing
Leave space on every stem: peaks around −6 dBFS to −3 dBFS are typical. Avoid limiters on individual tracks unless the effect is part of the sound you want kept. Omit master bus processing from exports unless we explicitly receive a ‘wet’ reference alongside dry stems.
If channel EQ or compression is essential to the tone, leave it and note it in a text file. If we need a different approach, we ask in revision — you have 2 rounds included on mixing.
Naming and folder layout
Use clear ASCII names: 01_DrumKick.wav, 02_BassDI.wav, 03_GuitarAmpL.wav. Per song use a folder Artist_TrackTitle_MixDate with subfolders Stems and optional References for a commercial reference or your rough mix.
Add README.txt with tempo, key, stem list, which take is double and where fades are ok. For multiple songs on EP pricing €690, repeat the structure per track — not one unlabelled zip for everything.
Delivery: cloud, drive and session files
Send download links via contact or [email protected] — we confirm receipt within 1 business day. Check links do not expire and passwords travel separately. Physical SSD drop-off at Overtoom is possible by appointment; agree exFAT or APFS/HFS+ beforehand.
DAW sessions (Logic, Pro Tools, Ableton) help as extras, not as the only delivery — plug-ins differ between rooms. Stems remain the source of truth. We store delivered material for 12 months unless terms and conditions or privacy policy say otherwise.
Rights and billing
Send only material you have rights to: your recordings, licensed beats, cleared samples. Nitentxara B.V. does not mix anonymously for releases where loop provenance is unclear — if in doubt, ask before payment.
B2B jobs may use 30-day payment terms on invoice where applicable. Consumer work follows the quote; mix per track at €185 includes VAT at 21%.
From mix to master
After mix approval, do not self-limit a ‘master’ unless you only need a reference. For streaming and vinyl we run mastering — from €90 per track with one revision round. Read loudness and mastering for LUFS targets and sequencing.
Stems from our live band recording or vocal and rap recording use studio archive names; you do not re-export unless you edited at home.
